Parts oilbank는 기존 주유소의 기능 위에 다양한 문화적 요소가 유입되고 확장되는 복합 플랫폼으로 재해석한 프로젝트이다.

“Parts”라는 이름은 이러한 방식을 직접적으로 드러낸다. 각기 다른 ‘파트’들은 개별적으로 존재하지 않고, 하나의 유기적인 조합으로 연결되며 새로운 공간적 정체성을 형성한다.

외부 공간은 이러한 개념이 가장 명확하게 드러나는 장치다. 메탈 스터드를 활용해 기존의 노후된 파사드를 재구성하고, 주유기 상부의 캐노피에는 LED 패널을 설치하였다. 이 패널은 차량의 진입에 반응하여 다양한 빛과 이미지를 만들어내며, 공간은 끊임없이 변화하는 상태를 갖는다.

이러한 장치는 단순한 조명을 넘어, 차량을 하나의 대상이 아닌 장면으로 인식하게 만든다. 주유소는 더 이상 기능을 수행하는 장소에 머무르지 않고, 차량이 가장 효과적으로 드러나는 환경으로 작동한다.

결과적으로 Parts oilbank는 주유소를 시각적 경험을 중심으로 재구성된 공간으로 전환한다.

Parts oilbank is a project that reinterprets the conventional gas station as a composite platform where diverse cultural elements are introduced and expanded upon the existing function.

The name “Parts” directly reflects this approach. Rather than existing independently, different components are combined into an organic system, forming a new spatial identity through their integration.

The exterior acts as the primary device where this concept is most clearly expressed. The aging facade is reconfigured using metal studs, while LED panels installed on the canopy above the fuel dispensers respond to vehicle entry, generating dynamic light and visual effects. As a result, the space continuously shifts and transforms.

This system goes beyond simple illumination, allowing vehicles to be perceived not merely as objects, but as elements within a constructed scene. The gas station no longer functions solely as a place for refueling, but as an environment where the presence of the vehicle is visually amplified.
