Swallow Lounge @seongsu는 서로 다른 성격의 프로그램들이 하나의 공간 안에서 공존하는 복합적인 환경이다. 의류, 오브제, 음악, 커피는 각각 독립적인 기능을 가지지만, 이 공간에서는 개별적으로 드러나기보다 하나의 질서 안에서 재구성된다.

이러한 복합성을 정리하기 위해, 공간은 ‘그리드’라는 단일한 구조를 기반으로 설계되었다. 천장의 메탈 그리드 시스템과 스틸 그레이팅 디테일은 공간 전반에 일관된 리듬을 형성하며, 다양한 요소들을 하나의 체계 안으로 수렴시킨다.

재료의 선택 역시 같은 맥락에서 이루어진다. 목재, 금속, 콘크리트와 같이 익숙하고 본질적인 소재들은 과장되지 않은 상태로 사용되며, 각 재료의 물성은 공간의 구조를 드러내는 역할에 집중한다. 이는 다양한 프로그램이 혼재된 상황에서도 시각적인 혼란을 최소화하고, 공간의 중심을 흐트러지지 않게 유지한다.

결과적으로 이 공간은 여러 기능이 병치된 장소가 아니라, 하나의 명확한 질서 속에서 다양한 경험이 정리되는 구조로 작동한다.

Swallow Lounge @seongsu is a multi-programmed environment where different functions coexist within a single spatial framework. Clothing, objects, music, and coffee each carry their own roles, yet within this space, they are reorganized under a unified order rather than presented independently.

To manage this complexity, the design is structured around a single system: the grid. The metal ceiling grid and steel grating details establish a consistent rhythm throughout the space, allowing diverse elements to converge into a cohesive framework.

Material selection follows the same logic. Familiar and fundamental materials such as wood, metal, and concrete are used in their most essential state, emphasizing their inherent properties rather than decorative expression. This approach minimizes visual noise and maintains spatial clarity despite the coexistence of multiple programs.

As a result, the space operates not as a collection of functions, but as a system where diverse experiences are organized within a clear and controlled order.
